Aspiring Special Education Student Looking To Get Your Input Prior To Opening An Adult Service Agency
I met a young lady through Twitter recently. Rachel is a Special Education major and is aspiring to one day open an adult service agency for individuals with disabilities. She is interested in hearing more from parents about what they want for their child after they graduate high school. I encourage you to make the decision whether you share your information, or not. It seems like a straight-forward survey and the feedback will most likely help her to learn more about developing an adult service agency. Please read a message I received from her.
"I have been working with individuals with disabilities for ten years. I do not know what sparked the passion but once I started doing it I was hooked. As I grew up, the people I worked with grew up as well. I had the opportunity to see my friends graduate high school and find post secondary placements. I am working to see what parents want for their children so if I develop an adult service agency I can take the feedback into consideration."
Please click HERE for the link to the survey. Thank you for taking the time to help Rachel out!

ATTENTION #SpecialNeeds Families in the #OklahomaCity Area ~ The Moore Special Needs Society is Hosting an Event!!!
Starplex Cinemas at Northpark 7 is willing to shut down every single theatre for a sensory sensitive showing if we can get at least 300 people to show up for the event on Saturday, January 25th! The lights will be raised, the volume will be down and our children will be able to move about freely. This is a family event and no RSVP is needed. Anyone can come but, we have to get at least 300 people there by 9 a.m. in order for us to receive the discount price of $2.00 per person. Isn't that wonderful?!? We haven't even told you what movie will be playing!!
As of right now, they plan to show the movie "Frozen". They won't know until the 21st of January if the movie is released for them to show. If the movie doesn't get released on the 21st, the Moore Special Needs Society Group will post a list of alternative movie choices on their Facebook Page and let everyone vote for the new movie. Please let everyone know about this event, and ask them to share it with others, also! Hope to see YOU there!!
A BIG SHOUTOUT TO EVERYONE INVOLVED IN SHARING THIS INFORMATION IN ANY AND ALL SOCIAL MEDIA THEY HAVE ACCESS TO!!!!

Series Beginning - Why Living with an adult HFA is Difficult - Highlights from Happy Robot Coaching
I am privileged to introduce a new educational organization, Happy Robot Coaching, that has been created by two very good friends of mine! Please feel free to leave comments either beneath my post below and/or after you have read their actual post that this links to. Thank you for taking your time to support friends of Nathan's Voice!
Who Happy Robot Coaching Is and What We Do
As a High Functioning Autistic/Neurotypical* couple, we have 40+ years of experience between us in communicating across neurological barriers. We have formed this educational organization in the hopes that we can help other NT/HFA people understand each other. We educate NTs in the skills necessary to understand HFAs such as giving complete information, speaking in logical well crafted sentences instead of emotional phrases and metaphors and using proper tone of voice. We also educate High-Functioning Autistic people in things to watch and listen for when communicating with Neurotypicals. We work with with HFAs in increasing awareness of who they are as individuals as well as educating them in how to improve their daily lives by teaching them better coping and life skills. We are available to answer any questions you might have about your NT or HFA loved ones either online or face-to-face (to which an hourly rate applies).
