  1. Each child is different, I have a 10 yr old with autism. He is a picky eater, but I still introduce him to new foods. He took a little longer to write on paper but once he got it he got it. Just keep pushing and take it one step at a time, one challenge at a time.

  2. Each child is different, every day. I try to keep things consistent in my classroom for them, but that doesn't always happen and can occasionally cause tears during lunch.

  3. I don't have much advice - just coming to terms with a daughter with autism who's 4. just consistency?

  4. no advice, sadly. my son is only 2.5 years old, so i'm looking to the parents of older kids on the spectrum for advice.

  5. My best advice is live, autism isn't the end of the world even though sometimes it feels that way. Enjoy and celebrate each tiny progress. Live for each day, week, month, year. The future is hazy for any child so live in the now. Work hard and never let your voice give up the battle. Trust your gut and that lil nagging voice. Most of all, allow yourself to cry, to throw your hands up. Its ok to feel overwhelmed and its ok to laugh about it too.
